Abilene Founder Lions sell
balloons at the Mall of Abilene
to raise money for various
community service projects.
Club members also put out
American flags in
neighborhoods on many
holidays.
Fall and holiday activities
include purchasing, filling and
delivering food baskets for
families and Christmas gifts for
underprivileged children.

Abilene Founder Lions Club awards university scholarships to graduating high school seniors each year through the A.E. Wells
Scholarship Fund at the Community Foundation of Abilene. The 2011 recipients of $3,000 annual scholarships are Kristi Berrios from
Abilene High School and Derek Footer from Cooper High School. Both students will attend HSU. Berrios will study pre-med and Footer

Abilene Founder Lions Club members donated $1,000 to
Global Samaritan Resources to assist rescue and
reconstruction efforts in Japan following the devastating
